Homecoming in Grove Oklahoma is a BIG DEAL! The town goes all out with a parade that lets the kids get out of school early for it. It ends with a pep assembly on the football field and then the big game that night. Syd and I got to be on a float for 5th grade football and cheerleaders. It was so much fun. Our van was in the car shop last week and then Shans car had to go in right after that. It has been crazy being a family of 7 with one car. But thanks to our friends the Bass family they have truly been a BLESSING. We have been able to enjoy them and have some help with transporatation. The game was exciting even though we lost. Brynlee was happy because her teacher for the last two years was there and her daughter was crowned homecoming queen. So many nice folks here in Oakie Ville:) Our friends the Bishops came and so that even made it more exciting. It was so crowded though and my legs were going numb from not being able to stretch. My back started to ache and I was beginning to feel very worn out. But we brought home two of Syds friends and those girls were up til all hours in the morning laughing and jumping and who knows what. Luckily Shan and Preston went on a last minute camp out with our Bishop and so they weren't here with all the girls in this house:)
We then woke up on Saturday and some of us went to the corn maze for our ward party and then to Syds cheerleading in Pryor. We left at noon and got home about 9:00. I was so tired by Sunday afternoon...
All these activities make me feel OLD- but I sure love our small town for the many different activities the kids can be involved in. This corn maze was all about choosing the right. It was a Christian church who puts it on every year. Very fun to teach the kids by tempting them while in the maze:)
Go Grove Ridgerunners!!!
