Nothing gets BUTTER than this kid!

Need I say more?

GIRLS GROW UP...

Morgan was all smiles tonight as she got to go to New Beginnings. This is a special night for girls who are turning 12 in our church. It is a BIG DEAL to them because it is when they get to enter the Young Women's Program. This is a small group but they are all such sweet girls and absolutely love one another. On Monday we had what we call Family Home Evening and we meet as a family and discuss the weeks calendar, sing church songs, read scriptures, have a lesson, and eat a treat. Sofie girl wishes every night was family night:) Well on Monday as we were discussing this weeks calendar and we talked about New Beginnings for Morgan, Shannon got all teary eyed and gave her the sweetest hug. It is hard for us to watch these kids grow up.

The Young Women's President and her counselors were so darling with Morgan. They gave a great lesson on How this life is like running a Marathon and it takes work to get to our end destination which is Eternal Life. I sat there thinking about what a blessing it is to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. To know that we have so many wonderful people who volunteer their time to serve our children and our family. This program is inspired as it comes at just the right age in a life of a pre-teen who has the peer pressure and inner struggles with self. Morgan came away from this night feeling so GOOD. She said' "I am really excited mom. I just felt special". A BIG thank you to all who made this night one for Morgan to always remember.

Also on this same night our Brynlee Boo had an interview with our Branch President for her Baptism on March 12th. She was so sweet. She was feeling a little nervous but as he asked her why she wanted to be Baptized she said, "so I can be clean and follow Jesus". As I sat there and watched her listen to President Robert's I could see the tears in her eyes and I knew she was feeling the Holy Ghost. She is so excited to be eight.  It really is true when they say It's great to be eight!

Morgan and Bryn- as your parents we love you. We are so blessed to be your parents. We know that you have been trusted in our care for a very short time as we see how fast the time is going. We also know that it is our job to teach you right from wrong. Thank you for being patient with us as we make mistakes.  May you always find Joy in choosing the right and following your Savior. Thanks for letting us be part of your Journey.
Love always- Mom and Dad

Let the parties begin!

Sofie had a SUNDAE birthday party after church on Sunday. We are so thankful to have such fabulous friends! Sofie shared her birthday with Grandma Sherry who also has a birthday on the 16th and Chelsea who had hers on the 15th. This is a party month for our family. Brynlee will be celebrating her birthday this next Friday on the 25th.
Let the parties begin...

My baby is 3 today

I woke up in the night thinking about my baby girl.  My heart was full as I reflected on my Sofie who turned 3 today. She is so much fun and a JOY to all of us. As we all know with each child you think, "I can't imagine what life would be like if he or she wasn't in our family".  With Sofie I really thought I was done having children until one morning while straightening up my girls bedroom and opening up their blinds to let some sun shine in, the thought came into my head and I heard and felt this little girl saying, "When are you going to let me come". My heart started to pound and my eyes swelled with tears and I knew that this little spirit was talking to me and letting me know that she wanted to come to our family.  It was a very spiritual experience and whenever I think about it I still get goose bumps and it brings tears to my eyes. As many of you know she has been birth control for Shan and I.  She is a handful... If I could write a book it would be titled "Where is Sofie"? We are always hunting her down to see what kind of mess she is in.  The other day she brought her bike in from the garage and she had it in the bathroom using it for a stool and playing in the sink.  She also says some pretty funny things. This past Sunday as we were getting ready to head out the door for church she had her baby in her arms and all of a sudden she threw her to the floor and said, "I don't like you. Your rude"! It was too funny. She truly has completed our family. I am so thankful that her little spirit spoke to me almost 4 years ago and that we listened and obeyed. What would life be like without this sweet Sofie?

Only our Sofie

This girl has gone from one swim "SOUP" to another. When daddy asked her why she is in a swim soup she replied "Cuz I'm cold":)  That is too funny when we have been snowed in all day and will be for another few days. We have 13.5 inches in our backyard. Then to top off the swim soups, she has this one on backwards.  She sure adds a lot of personality plus to this house. She also got into my lipstick right before this picture and I still can't find my lid.  It seems that everyday we have a STT (Story to tell) with this girl.

It is a BLIZZARD out there!

We tried to keep our kids in doors, but as the snow kept falling it was too
tempting to get out in it.
For some reason our Sofie has been sporting a swim suit all morning. She is my kinda girl. Bring on the sun! Yesterday our Walmart was worse than Christmas Eve. The lines were forever long as people were preparing for this weather. I just thought it was too funny. I had one of my sweet friends, Alisa with me and we running on adrenaline. There was a weird kind of excitement in the air.  Old farts in their little Jazzy carts pushing other carts out of the way, others butting in for the next rotesseri chicken. I said to her "If this is what it is going to be like trying to get to heaven then I don't think I want to go." I am sure that our kids will have no school the rest of the week. It is only the first day and we have had spilled syrup with our pancakes, spilled sugar making cookies, and the same old "I'm bored" all day.  Tomorrow will be a new day with a new story...
But I must say I always have loved True stories:)
