Today was truly one of the happiest days of my life. Shannon has been out of the country for 10 long days. Before he left summer was in full force and we were feeling a little like roommates. What do I mean by this? I mean that we were so busy with life, kids, jobs, callings, and company, that we were doing our own things and not having time to talk, to share, to catch up and to hold one another. The morning I drove him to the airport we both had very heavy hearts and a tearful goodbye. We already missed one another and he hadn't even left yet. It was the worst feeling. My heart was heavy! Those 10 days were long and lonely. Even with all of the company I had and all the activities, I sure was missing my man. One night while we skyped we talked about how in all his travels this tops it as the hardest for both of us. Nights were restless. My kids were suffering because I had no more to give. I thought of those wives who have husbands fighting for our freedoms. How thankful I am for those who are making this sacrifice. Then I thought of those who have lost their husbands through death or divorce. Oh I am so thankful for the love of my life. So thankful for our friendship, our eternal marriage, and our HAPPY HOME. He will always be my greatest blessing and I will always be

I hope you put that on your bedroom wall or somewhere special. What a sweet picture for your children to see and for you to remember.
YEAH YEAH YEAH you are finally back together again!!! I know you both needed this and I'm glad this trip is behind you. I TOTALLY get the "roommates" thing and just going through the motions of life without the time to connect and I can imagine that having that before a long, out of the country trip would really weigh on anyone. I'm glad its over now. Just remember...you promised to prioritize some time for YOU and HIM...SOON...so keep in mind you can't be everything for EVERYONE and make some time for your little family and especially for you and your hubby!!
